Before pouring concrete, following following checklist for Steel Reinforcement.
- Reinforcement should be free of loose rust, oil paints, mud etc.
- It should be cut, bent and fixed properly.
- The reinforcement shall be placed and maintained in position by providing proper cover blocks, spacers, supporting bars and laps etc.
- Reinforcements shall be placed and tied such that concrete placement is possible without segregation, and compaction is possible by an immersion vibrator.
Pouring of Concrete
Concrete should be poured within 30-60 minutes of preparation. Addition of extra water is not recommended. Concrete should be poured in layers without breaking the continuity with the maximum free fall of concrete not exceeding 1.5 meters.
